Objective:

To create a Primary DNS server for a domain.

Current Status:

I have some domain names where the company selling the names allows you to list a primary and secondary DNS server. I just pointed these to a fixed IP address and used port forwarding for 53 to one of my servers.

And Then:

I have used the www.dnsreport.org site which tells me I could have made much better job.

The domain I want to get right is: rmyc.co.uk

So starting from scratch what should I do? Is it realistic hosting a low activity (2 emails per day) domain from your own server?

So I have a server that is not part of a Active Directory domain, so is not providing DNS services to local PCs.  Also I was going to use ns1.twisted4life.com as a secondary server.

The DNS report is looking a lot better now but I have many DNS questions chance for a DNS expert to get lucky.
