Hi all,

Wonder if you can help.  I have purchased two Packard Bell Store & Save USB2 hard drives (ST325082) for my customer's 2003 Small Business Server.  They are connected via a 4 port PCI USB2 card, the server is an HP Proliant.

I am unable to format either of these drives with NTFS either through my computer or Logical Disk Management.  If I use My Computer it just says "format failed", and if I use LDM it gets to 100% and then says "The format did not complete successfully".  If i then look at the properties of the drive the file system is listed as RAW and the drive is inaccessible.

I can format them using FAT or FAT32 but that's no good as the drives are going to be holding sbs backups with file sizes in excess of 4GB.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Olaf De Ceuster
