using hp Array Configuration Utility

It is enabled for remote service mode. start, programs, HP system tools, HP ACU, Setup HP Array Configuration Utility. Change it to local application mode.

Suggest changing it back to remote service mode afterwards since someone's probably set it that way deliberately so it can be managed by SIM.

Local application mode enables 2301 so that the start menu item works.

It's set up to local application mode and I am an administrator in the server

it gives me a web page that says:

"This is a private system. Do not attempt to login unless you are an authorized user. Any authorized or unauthorized access and use may be monitored and can result in criminal or civil prosecution under applicable law."

I logon with administrator credentials, but I receive "Your login attempt was rejected."

The username and password are not necessarily the same as for Windows, they are in a file called smhpd.xml, this can be updated through Server Insight Manager to be anything you want it to be - from a remote SIM console. If this password is lost then find a machine that you can access the systems management homepage (https://localhost:2381, and copy this file from it on top of the current smhpd.xml. Then in control panel services restart the systems management homepage service and it will use the password of the other box. Would recommend checking that you're not using SIM if you're just one of the administrators in a large organisation before changing the file.

I searched and could find the file smhpd.xml in w2k3 standard edition though I found it in w2k3 enterprise edition.
but I don't where to copy it since they don't have the same folders.

Don't move the file unless it's near-enough the same contents if the folders are different, might be that the other one is not the systems management home page demon config xml script.

Worst case is to install another server, setup a username/password for the systems management homepage and then copy that one accross. Do you use SIM as central admin for your Proliants?

what does SIM stand for?

Systems Insight Manager, used to be Compaq Insight Manager, sounds the same (cim vs sim) so HP got away with the name change when they bought Compaq. Admittedly it is more powerful than in the Compaq days as it can integrate with VMWare.
 
It uses the (SNMP) event notification drivers that send traps to a monitoring workstation and uses the systems management home page and insight Lights Out to provide a single GUI to manage all your Proliant servers from a central location. If a drive fails the server sends a trap to the console and that sends you an email telling you a disk is down. If you have more than about half a dozen HP servers to look after it would be worth getting a consultant in for a day to set it up properly and show you how to use it. It can monitor and control your network switches and routers as well and supposedly Dell have support for it as well and it's pretty much free as opposed to OpenView or Network Node Manager.

Actually, I have run SIM, added the web address to trusted sites and it still showing the same page.

Try reinstalling the ACU with the latest version... this can be done online.

I hope It doesn't require restarting the server.

You're more likely to reset the password by uninstalling/reinstalling the systems management homepage than the ACU but since you haven't answered my question about how many servers and how big the organisation is I won't help any more since in a large organisation the SMH might be deliberately passworded against you by higher authority.
