Exchange Policies

I have a very simple question I just want to have answered so I can be certain. I am going to create a new mailbox manager policy to automatically delete junk email older than 30 days. My question is: When I activate the policy, does it delete the mail immediately and then start the 30 day counter or does it not do anything for 30 days? Seems like an obvious answer, but I dont want to be the one to delete email without warning people.

Thanks.

This of course also depends on when you run mailbox manager policy.  If for example you have a message that is 31 days old in the Junk E-mail folder and the mailbox manager policy doesnt run for another 3 days, it will not be deleted until 3 days later.  It is not immidiate in the sense of as soon as the message turns 30 days old, but rather when the mailbox manager policy runs.  You set this in ESM on in the properties of your server.
