Using hyphens in title tag - good idea?
I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to split the keywords with hyphens, for example

keyword1 - keyword2 - keyword3 - keyword4 - domain.com

Would this be a good idea or would Google penalize the site?

Thanks,

Joe

in the title its ok as long as it matches the content of the page its on. keep it on target dont spam i.e. put 15 keyword in the top, but a few is ok again as long as its on topic of Β the site.

Your best bet is to just put spaces between keywords, have 1-3 keywords per page, and if you have more than one keyword, make a short phrase that contains the keywords and put it as your title. Titles should look natural.

So I should change the title tag on each separate html page?

Yeah, I asked this question a little while ago, but when I was in the process of creating the web page I started to run out of ideas for new keywords because I used the ideal ones on the index.html page. The header of my page is non changing so all of the keywords in the header are the same for each page. Thanks guys for all of the information.

Sorry, I didn't ask this question but a question about new keywords in title tag.

Avatar of weikelbobweikelbobπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

You can repeat keywords on some of your pages if you run out of ideas. But realize that unless you have inbound links coming into each page, it will rank very low in Google anyway. So maybe your best bet is to spend time building inbound links to your most important page or most important pages.
