Incorporating IM-style "Chat" to our Site
We are a non-profit organization that wants to incorporate on a monthly basis a service where we can have a topic "expert" available to answer questions from a general audience.
The ideal scenario would be one where we can have a chat room where multiple individuals can join this chat room to ask our questions specific to that day's theme.
Ideally, aside from the host, only those who are "invited" to chat can do so and all else would be able to only "view" the conversations as they take place (much like AOL's erstwhile sessions where a celebrity makes herself available to chat).
Does anyone have suggestions for software or a service that makes this possible?

Thanks weikelbob for the very quick response. I just looked into Liveperson. They do look very together, but don't offer any option where a single host can chat with multiple individuals in the same chat room simultaneously. So it won't work for us since we're seeking a 'classroom' scenario... Any other ideas? Thanks again in advance!

is excellent, but it depends on how much you want to spend. If you're really good with AJAX/Javascript and a scripting languagel like PHP or ASP.NET, you can build one yourself, but you have to be pretty good.
