Exchange not receive email from outside
For some reason our exchange server is not getting email from outside of our company. I thought it was always working but maybe i was wrong. All the email still go to the pop server. i dont know if something is wrong on the DNS or firewall set up but it is not getting email though...please help

and we just remove the mail.lateraldata.com MX record because we want all the email to go to the exchange server.. this is an offsite POP mail server but all a sudden we are not getting email anymore. so apparently the email have been going to the pop server and then to us...we have 2 accounts for each users..one hook up the the exchange and one popping email from the mail.lateraldata.com...and the strange thing it that it never rebounce back to the senders?

dns changes can take up to4 8 hours totake effect-when was the change made??

oh i recently closed port 25 because i thought it was to reduce spam problem..so i need to open it?? i change out smtp port to 587 which should work though?? about the DNS...i had to add the DNS record again for both email server because nothing going to our exchange server....yeah i thought our exchange email server was working before....thanks...

hey Sembee...i made the change the the exchange server...nothing is done to the DNS yet..can you tell me if #2 is fixed

It is connecting to smtp...
However it looks like you have a PIX. Disable the Fixup SMTP option in the PIX, as it can cause you problems.
