I am an experienced programmer but do not have Python experience. I'm not too worried about that part because I figure I can look up syntax and what not from books and the internet. What I need to know quickly however is how to use Python to write an application. I have a web app that I need to convert to run from a CD or MAC. I have a copy of a CD that does something similar to what I need to do and it looks like it uses Python (there are .py files on the disk). What I want to do is mimic ASP pages but using Python. In other words, I want to be able to have dynamic HTML that will be viewed in a browser without having to have a web server. I'm hoping I can accomplish that with Python. THe CD that I have has files on with extensions of .y but are viewed in a web browser. The source for those .y files looks very much like ASP and HTML (however I'm told that the ASP like code is Python). What I want to know is how do I need to setup my environment on the CD to be able to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
