Force UserControl to redraw

I have a UserControl.cs that I added.

In the Designer I have a button docked to fill.

The button is public in scope.

I am putting the UserControl on my Form  (as per MyUserControls in the Toolbox)

From my MainForm I am setting the image of this button (the one on my UserControl) at runtime, but the Image does not update.

Why?

Is there a way to force the UserControl to repaint itself, and the button that is on it, such that the newly assigned Image will "refresh" and show up?
