high availability nameserver

hello, how do I create high availability nameservers for my domain (example abc.com) ?

do i have to get servers in many locations in the world? would that be good?

what if server 1 is down, would the customer ISP's dns server will try to lookup the IP from another nameserver for abc.com ?

most domain name resellers and website/email hosts provide 2 name servers for redundancy.  So in the case of failure of 1 the second would still answer.
You can also make arrangements to have your site hosted or pointed to by "high availability servers"/

Are you hosting yourself or are you being hosted on the web by an external site? Answer that before anything said above means anything
