Security Permissions & Folder Access

Hi,

I am a Helpdesk Tech & an Administrator and i have found myself locked out of folders that have been modified for certain users to access. Administrators and domain administrators have been added to the list of users who can access the folder, but we are still locked out. Is there anyway to restore the Security permissions to a previous version?

We can access the shadow copy from a previous time, without any problem and access the files in there. However, since the change in security permissions, there have been changes made to certain files ( word files, for example). Is there a way to restore full permission to administrators to these folders?

Any help would be most helpful.

thank you

The only way to restore the security permissions to what they used to be is to restore a backup from tape or from the Shadow Copy.  Else all you need to do is to take ownership of the directory and files and then reset the security to what it should be.
