Outlook Express has recently started displaying the following error message, when the user tries to save an email attachment..
'cannot save the attachment, can't create file abc1.tif. Right click the folder you want to create the file in and the click properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder'
This error message only appears for the first attachment within each email, the second and third attachments ( where present ) open fine. The user is simply using a 1yr old non networked HP Windows XP Pro computer and is signed on as the computer Administrator. There are therefore no permission issues as the user has full rights to all folders. This problem seems to affect all types of attachments, although we have tried changing the .tif image viewer without success.
What is causing this problem and how can it be resolved ?
