Need to Examine a User's Mailbox for a Message

VP has come to me to ask if I can track a message sent from a specific user to a specific recipient. Using the Message Tracking Center in System Manager I found that the message was indeed delivered to the recipient at 2:33PM on 12/12/06, which is when the user said he sent it. The recipient claims he never received the message. Although I have notification of delivery, the VP asked me if there's any way I can confirm that the recipient physically read the message and, if possible, whether or not he deleted said message.
