bounce message
Hello I have a customer that has a e-mail address that is used to send out statements from teh exchange server. We dop not have this address created on our system. He does not want people replying to this address. It says this in the email of course people are replying. How can I automate a reply when people reply to this stating this is not a valid e-mail address?
ASKER
thank you but if the message is not valid will it just give them a invalid e-mail back?
Yes, that is the problem with any automated reponse system. The solution is to simply not do it.
If you add a line in the email going out saying "do not reply to this email" then just let it bounce, people will soon realise that reading the email would be beneficial :)

To access this solution, you must be a member of Experts Exchange.
Actually make it a legitmate address (create a user account for it) and then use the OOTO message, or another 3rd party auto reply piece of software (GFI ME has this)
The best way to set up OOTO is with OWA - just go to options once you have logged into the new mailbox.
As no-one will be checking this mailbox, give it a massive long password.
Hope that helps,
