Lotus Notes Client: Sent email not appearing in Sent Folder?

Hello,

I have a user that when sending an email from Lotus Notes 6.5.3 the email doesn't appear in the sent items.  Emails used to appear there... I can see messages from September.

She has manager access to her mail file.

If I open the mail file remotely using MY user ID, ( she is on a different server ) and send an email myself, using her mail file, the message DOES appear in the sent items.

I have tried copying the database incase there was a corruption of some sort.. I have also check there is no quota on the mail file in question.

I am sure I am missing something obvious can you please help me solve this problem?

Thank you,

Broad.

Hi BroadAustralia,

The obvious is the quota but I see you've checked that

Try replacing the design of the mail file

Cheers!

If that doesn't help, try to open the mail database in the Designer, remove the view ($Sent), and Refresh the design. The view should be added again. Usually, doing this, problems like these are fixed.
Stupid question, does she have some rules configured to place mail from into a folder?
Another stupid question to your stupid question: are mail rules executed on sent mail? Too lazy to look it up...

sjef - you know, I honestly don't know :)  The rules just ask when SENDER..  so it's probably a design thing.. duplicate or corrupt sent view.

After a long long holiday I am back on the job -- sorry for the lack of comms.

woohoo, SysExpert you da man! THANK YOU !

Problem was the user had gone into File | Preferences | User Preferences | Mail & Modfied drop down box  "Save mail that you send" to "Never keep a copy".

Thanks to sg405222 , Sjef & MarliynG for the ideas - but SysExpert takes the cake!  I had no idea such a switch existed!

Happy 2007 guys & gals!
