when i login with username/passsword, my current prompt is

-bash-2.05#

1) if i execute "sh", my prompt becomes
sh-2.05b#

2) if i execute "tcsh" or "csh" my prompt becomes
[root@hostname ~]$


where does this file exists such that i can manage how the prompt looks like for both sh and tcsh
