How to determine a system's implementation of "int"

Hi,

I've been having some problems with an SNMP implementation on a number of Solaris 9 systems. Some values defined as COUNTERS - 32 bit int, are flopping wildly from positive to negative, and the counters in theory should always be positive. I am wondering if this behavior could be caused by Sun using signed int rather than unsigned int for their counters.

I am drawing a complete blank on how I could verify if my suspicions are correct. Does anyone know how I could test this?

Thanks,
Jeff
