How would I make a batch file that automatically maps a drive to a shared network folder?

for instance... make "G:" map to \\servername\sharedfolder\jim

every time the machine logs in? The active directory login script I currently have for someone, is mapped to "G:" \\servername\sharedfolder\jim... however, for some reason it keeps resetting "G:" to \\servername\sharedfolder  and not to his own personal folder...

so i'm hoping a batch file could fix this?
