Why am I getting bounceback messages from a non-delegated user on Meeting Invites to a different recipient?

When a Meeting Invite is sent to one of our Managers the sender gets the following bounce back message:

""Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:      Accepted:
      Sent:      14/12/2006 15:53

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

      User2 on 14/12/2006 15:53
            The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to.  Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
            <mailserver.domain name.local #5.1.1>""

This only happens on Meeting Invites, not on regular emails. I have checked the Managers Outlook settings and 'User2' is not listed as a delegate on the Managers’s mailbox or folders. In fact 'User2's account has been deleted from AD and their mailbox purged. I have no idea why we keep getting bounce backs from User2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
