zwsreg 6.5 imports duplicate workstations
Periodically zwsreg will import a duplicate workstation but add a 1 after the name for example:
Workstation and then Workstation1
It seems to happen most with our Dell 600 laptops. I figured it had something to do with the fact that their is a wireless card that is on, but not connected. (Our workstations are hardwired with the built in network card).
However the same thing just happened to one our desktops which only has one card.
How do I stop the duplicates!!! Thanks for your help.

Does this occur when a different user logs into the lap top?

No it is the same user for any particular computer.
What is the ZEN 6.5 SP? What client mode do you use - the agents or the middle tier? What event triggers workstation import? Do you have more than one ZEN server doing workstation import/inventory with a separate database server?

We have Zen 6.5 SP2. We use the latest client 4.91SP 2, although its happened with other clients also. We have one server importing workstations. Now that I think about it though, the trigger of the import is a little odd. For some reason, we initialize the import of the workstation manually before we give it out, and then everytime they login the zwsreg import is run again. I guess there is no reason to run it everytime they login. However, even if we, do why would the workstation duplicate, it is the same exact workstation. Mind you this happens intermittantly.
