Server Performance Report stays in SMTP queue.

I have a SBS2K3 server here that creates a persistent VPN connection to a remote to a remote SBS2K3 server running Routing and Remote Access. The VPN connection is always connected. I am geographically in a different location to the remote server, and we are on different domains.

I have configured small business server "Server Performance Report" to email me a log of the server report on a daily basis, but these just sit in the SMTP queue and never get sent. The strange thing is that a user within the company can email me... only the server reports cannot be sent.

I mentioned the VPN as it may have an impact, where do I look for the error why it cannot deliver the mesaage?
