Quickbooks error 6180, 105
I have a user who when she tries to log in to Quickbooks Pro 2006, she gets an error message with the codes 6108 and 105. I have 3 other users in my office on the same version of Quickbooks and neither of them has this issue. She is on a Windows XP SP2, all updates downloaded. All updates to Quickbooks are downloaded. The error states that the appropriate permissions are not applied. But they are...I've double checked. Nothing has changed on her workstation or the server. This message just started popping up. I found an article online that said to make sure all Quickbooks updates are installed and they are. I even uninstalled Quickbooks, reinstalled and manually installed release 9 (as suggested by Quickbooks tech support). I still get the same error and this is the only computer I get it on (and it's configured the same as the other computers that have Quickbooks installed). If I call tech support back, they're gonna charge me. So if anyone out there has had the same problem and you can help me, I'll give you as many points as I possibly can. Thanks!

No, I already tried all of the things you listed. Also, we have 5 QB licenses and 4 users, so I have not exceeded the licenses. It's something in whatever new patch they sent out that doesn't like her computer because when I did a fresh install, it worked fine. Then I uploaded all of the updates and I got the error message. She's due for a new computer anyway, so I'll just do that and see if that helps. Thanks.

A new or clean install will solve the permissions problem, it is not "her computer" that is the problem, it is the installation of windows on that computer that has somehow gotten messed up.  Anyway, good luck.

Software is any set of instructions that directs a computer to perform specific tasks or operations. Computer software consists of programs, libraries and related non-executable data (such as documentation). Computer software is non-tangible, contrasted with computer hardware, which is the physical component of computers. Software written in a machine language is known as "machine code". However, in practice, software is usually written in high-level programming languages than machine language. High-level languages are translated into machine language using a compiler or interpreter or a combination of the two.
