On my development notebook Win XP, SQL2005 and VS2005 were installed without IIS5. Then I found SSRS project didn't have its report server and couldn't be deployed. I could only test reports without deployment. Now I have IIS5 installed. Please advise steps to reconfigure SSRS with full deployment to report server. Thanks.

When I open the reporting services configuration manager, I see:

No report servers were found on the specified machine.

How can a report server be installed?

Thanks.

SSRS was installed first time without IIS5. It's now reinstalled again with IIS5. But how can I find its URL location to set it to the report project property? I don't see a report server database either. Please help. Thanks.

Now I see:
                2 databases: ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB
2 virtual directories: Report Server and Reports.

Which one is the one for report deployment?

Thanks.

As I check on the report server, I see:

Reporting Services Error
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The report server has encountered a configuration error. See the report server log files for more information. (rsServerConfigurationError)
Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.4\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config' is denied.

SQL Server Reporting Services

Please advise. Thanks.

Cannot deploy reports with this latest error:

Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.4\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config' is denied

Hi, then the report service account (the account the runs the SSRS service) is not allowed access to the said file... for testing purpose make sure that Everyone has full access to that file/folder.

Then this error shows:

The encrypted value for the "LogonCred" configuration setting cannot be decrypted.

On the left panel of Reporting Services Configuration Manager, Initialization is marked red as not configured. All other items above are marked green as configured. Please advise. Thanks.

To fix up things, can I reinbsall SSRS from SQLServer 2005 and/or VS2005? Do I need to uninstall anything before the reinstall? Thanks.
