Can you tell us a bit more about what you're trying to do?

There is some code in VB which gets a handle to a Word file and coverts it first to XML and then to RTF (just as one would do it using "Save As"). We want to call this code from Java.

Your easiest way to do it would be to provide the rtf to stdout, then the executable can be called from Java and the rtf stream obtained

Get your VB to write the rtf to stdout. File name in, rtf stream out. Then Runtime.exec it

you can call a vb dll from jawin sample code is at

http://jawinproject.sourceforge.net/jawinuserguide_dll.html#samplecode

Commented:
If you have the VB Code in standalone m/c {
    if it is compiled to form an exe
       you can execute that exe by Runtime.getRuntime().exec(myExeName_with_full_PATH)
   else if is the script file in which vb code (VB SCcript) is resided
       you can run it in the same way as above just by calling CSript.exe
       found in every wnidows installation with following syntax
       cscript [script name] [host options] [script arguments]
}
