Adobe CS2 Updater Error

jgoldsmi asked
Last Modified: 2008-03-10
I have been running CS2 since there was a CS2.  My current operating system is Windows XP Pro 2002 SP2.  Within reason, everything has run well - except for one problem:

The applications in CS2 (except for Acrobat) share the Adobe Updater program.  This small application checks your version number of your CS2 aps. against the current versions and lists those available for update.  The user may then check those they wish to update and the Updater will a) download the updates and b) ask you to install and then c) install those updates.

On my PC, "a" & "b" execute fine, but then when we get to "c" I get an "Installation Incomplete, Update failed to install" error every time.

As a work around, I can note the version numbers and go to the Adobe site and manually update the products (pain).  But this does not work for an update called "PHOTOSHOP SERVICES UPDATE 3"

Can you help?
