in unix what is the command to find any particualr file in the wholle file system of unix or linux struture
say under /dev,/etc,/usr etc

"find" is the command..

e.g. to find all ".txt" files under /tmp use the following:

find /tmp -type f -name '*.txt' -print


agree find is the command , but this command will find under /tmp but i do not know where my file is may be under /usr so what is the command which will find in all file strutcure

one more clarification ,what does this 2 means here
The "2" means "filedescriptor 2" which is stderr...
