You can not limit the size of single folder on Windows 2003 Server. Disk qoutas are per user per disk. I would suggest that you create extra partition (or use existnig one) and use Folder Redirection group policy to redirect all users "My documents" to your server. Than you should enable disk qoutas on this partition and I would suggest enabling Shadow Copy as well.

If you need more detailed explanation, let me know,

Im sorry I didn't understand the folder redirection part, could you please elaborate ? and what does Shadow Copy do ?

Thank you.
I forgot to mention we are already storing the "My Documents" folder of the users on our server, but it has no size limitation.

Thanks geoffcashmoney for your reply, I think this is a bit too advanced for what am looking for. This will hopefully be in my future upgrade to the system. But for the timebeing my question is, Is there any possible way to limit just the Folders' size without limiting the whole volume and using quota entries ? even with using third-party applications ?.

Thank you.

The only way that you can limit the folder size is if you have Windows Server 2003 R2, the initial release can only do it by volume and not folder / directory.

Im sure there are 3rd party products you can buy but I have never used any so maybe someone else might be better able to advise you.
Hi, unfortunately I'm not familiar with third party qouta applications. I would suggest that you research R2 as possibilty - it's not really an upgrade, it's add-on.
hi, I got the R2 add-on and "upgraded" my system. Now how can I limit the size ?? Does anyone know a guide or provide me with the steps.

Thank you.
