Remote users need to access their exchange email on laptops
Hi all,
We have an exchange server up and running in the HQ, all users logon to the domain and pick up their email etc.
We have a number of remote laptop users who want to open outlook and get their emails from the exchange server.
Does the remote user have to use a VPN connction to HQ, or can you configure exchange to accept http (https) connections.
Any help appreciated

You wouldn't have issues with just the one server, but for security and flexibility it's a lot better to have an FE/BE setup.

I think Chris has posted the answer, we are working on it at the moment.
We are using exchange server 2003 on windows 2003 with one Windows 2003 DC, running office 2003.
Glad to hear SBS 2003 will also do, we are going to do that on another site.
We want to avoid using VPN for email access if possible.
Chris we only have a single MSX 2003 server, cant afford it :-), why do you say that will we have issues with one server doing both?
Thanks
John
