Hi
I've been trying to install JDK on my FreeBSD 6.1 box. When I try building it using /usr/ports/java/jdk15 it requests me to download the files manually. I've done so accordingly and downloaded three files namely

1: jdk-1_5_0-bin-scsl.zip
2: jdk-1_5_0-src-scsl.zip
3: bsd-jdk15-patches-4.tar.bz2

and placed them in /usr/ports/distfiles. After this, I am not sure how to proceed. I tried building Java again using /usr/ports/java/jdk15, but it still throws up error requesting us to place the file "bsd-jdk15-patches-4.tar.bz2" into /usr/ports/distfiles.

Can anyone help in the right approach? I tried various other options like unzipping the files and the patch, but still I couldn't get anywhere.

Thanks in advance

Very much... 744 is set on all the three files... and I've ensured they are the same files which BSD wanted. In fact there weren't too many choices either on the website from where it was downloaded, especially the BSD patch which was the only download.
The error it throws up is this...

===>  jdk-1.5.0p2_6 :
Due to licensing restrictions, certain files must be fetched manually.

Please download the patchset, bsd-jdk15-patches-2.tar.bz2, from
 http://www.eyesbeyond.com/freebsddom/java/jdk15.html.

Please place the downloaded file(s) in /usr/ports/distfiles
 and restart the build.

.*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/java/jdk15.

Earlier, it mentioned the JDK files too, but that disappeared after placing them into /usr/ports/distfiles. Any thought why its not able to see the patch file...?

Thanks

Oops! I couldn't be more careless...! The third file (BSD Patch) has a numeric different... The build is asking for patchlevel 2 and I had downloaded the latest patchlevel (4).
I downloaded the correct version and its working fine now... Thanks Terref for suggesting such a thing which made me take another look...
