ON MY LAPTOP,MY CURSOR MOVES TO OTHER PLACES WHEN I AM TYPING....HELP!!!

Not sure if this is hardware or software but here is the story. Whenever i am typing a word document and i am going along the cursor jsut moves to another part of the document so i am re typing over again, has anyone seen this before??? Please Help

It is probably a joke, but it could also be a remote control program or malware.

Run a full check usinh hijackthis, spybot and adaware.

Also see if it happens in Safe mode

no its not a joke, it has happened on another laptop of mine in the past, and i have run those programs already. There was a fix but i cant remember it...but thanks for getting back

Also see if  the keyboard and associated keys are all clean.

no..not a too close to the touch pad issue either...i first thought that but watching others and also doing it i saw it happen. In the midst of waiting for an answer i did some searching and i actually went into the control panel...went to mouse and unchecked the "hide while typing" option....it seems to have done the trick. Maybe has somethng to do with the drivers. Will get back to everyone while i keep testing.

I have seen touch pads react to movement 4-5 inches above the touch pad.  It was impossible to type on that laptop.  We eventually cut the wires leading to the pad since it was out of warranty.

I have had no problems since unchecking that property in the mouse control panel., but the disabling of the keypad also helps,thats why i divided the points.
I had inadvertently switched on "activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse" in Ease of Access (VISTA).
Unchecking that option solved my mouse problem.
