Delete files from a network drive

I deleted a file from a mapped network drive (Y) a minute ago.
Now I need to restore the deleted files. I searched both server and clients trash box.
But I can't find the deleted file.

What happens to a deleted file from a mapped network drive if it doesn't go to the trash box?
Is there any possibility to restore it?
I haven't save any files to prevent it be overwritten.

Many thanks for any kind of advice.

I'm trying "recover my files v3.98" to see if it can't find if, but nothing is found.

Thanks for trying to help

I tried 4 of them and none found what I was looking for.
I didn't save anything since I deleted the file. So the possibility of
being overwritten is 0.

One more question if you don't mind.
When a file is deleted from a network drive, where does it go?
I didn't used shift+delete to delete it permanently. I just hit Del key.
It must be gone to a trash box or somewhere I believe.

Thanks for all the replies.

It's a business network. I backup the whole system on another pc's hard disk and
on an external Hard disk too. (the pc is used just for backup purpose.)
Though I backup important folders each evening (through a scheduled application)
but the mentioned file is a MS-Access Database and is changed every second by the
users of the network.
It means even if I restore the database from last night's backup, I will loose today's data.

and yes, I run the applications from the server. but unfortunately they couldn't restore
the deleted file. (I locked the server immediately and changed all the privilliges of all network users
to read-only to save the file from over-writing. but it seems it didn't help)

I had no other choice. I had to restore the file from it's last backup and asked
some staffs to re-input today's orders into the database.

Million thanks for all the comments.

What server are you running?  2003 has shadow copy - that would help in your situation...
