SQL Server Instances
Greetings,
I have been testing out SQL Server 2005 and MOSS 2007. I initially installed MOSS 2007, then installed SQL Server 2005 for the tools, but inadvertantly installed the db server, as well. I now have the following instances:
SPS02\officeservers
ver 9.0.2047
SPS02\SPS02
ver 9.0.1399
SPS02
ver 9.0.1399
I believe MOSS installs an embedded database, which is why it probably has a different verison number. In add/remove, I have the following:
MS SQL Server 2005
MS SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services ADOMD.NET
MS SQL Server 2005 backward Compatibility
MS SQL Server Native Client
MS SQL Server Setup Support Files
MS SQL Server VSS Writer
MS Office SharePoint Server 2007
I am trying to figure out what's what.
1. Can/How do I get rid of SPS02/SPS02 and SPS02 instances?
2. What's the difference between the MOSS embedded db and a regular sql db?
