STOP Error with Extreme Quad CPU installing 64 bit OS unless Core Multiplexing Technology is Disabled

I'm running an Intel Extreme Quad Core CPU on an Intel D975XBX2 Motherboard with 4GB Corsair RAM. I can install 32 bit operating systems without problem, but 64 Bit operating systems (WinXP 64 / WinSvr2k3x64 etc) Crash with a IRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP message right after the initial text portion of the install (ie just before you tell it what partition etc to install onto).

If I disable Core Multiplexing Technology (ie knock out 2 of the 4 cores) things load normally.

Attempting to re-enable Core Multiplexing Technology after install produces the same error at the "Starting Windows" section. BIOS is very latest (approx 1 week old)

Any ideas anyone?
