transfer between software raid 1 and hardware raid 5 over the Internet.
I have to temporarily use a local machine that has a maximum of 2 IDE drives and 2 SATA drives and later transfer the files created on this machine onto a remote (in another continent) colocated machine supplied by the colocation company (I'll have no physical access to it).
Is there a problem or something to anticipate in the transfer of the files for a novice if the temporary machine is sata
software raid 1 and the colocated machine is true hardware raid 5?
My basic knowledge tells me it should just be a normal transfer of files but this may be incorrect.
Thank you for your help.

you cannot raid enable two machines across the continent. raid is for the local machine and works on the local disks available at the local machine. for remote RSYNC is the option to go for.
