Lost Focus event and multiple forms in vb.net Windows app

Last Modified: 2008-01-09
I have a Wndows app with several Edits.  The application contains a seperate 'Add' screen.  After a struggle I have the edits working ok on the main form for changes, deletes.  To get to an add, the user invokes a 2nd form for adds.  I had coded similar edits on the textboxes to be added that were used on the main form.  The problem is that they appear to be firing differently.

When the form is displayed, the first textbox has lost focus before anything has been done.  Also the same edits do not behave the same way on this 'add' screen.  I often test the lost focus event by tabbing from the textbox.  The peculiar thing at the moment is that the focus appears to already move to the next textbox before firing the lost focus event.  This causes the edit to be performed on the next textbox before the user gets there.  I have been studying the properties of both form and textboxes and I don't see anything to cause this.  Anyone know what might be going on?
