Dell PowerEdge Build in U.S. Ship to U.K.
Can you build a Dell PowerEdge server in the U.S. then ship it to England and use a different power cable? Or do you have to change the power supply too?
I would like to order a Dell PowerEdge 2950 in the U.S., set it up here and then ship it to England. I am assuming all I would need is the proper UK power cord...
If there is anything else I am not taking into consideration of please let me know.
Thanks!
Greg

It depends on the power supply Dell puts in the one you get. Most will travel well, some will not. There's really no way of telling, for certain, until you get the unit in your hot little hands. If it's compatible, there'll be a switch on the back to change voltage.

Make sure that the power supply is 110/220 50/60 Hz. I believe the Dell supplies are auto-sensing/auto-switchin g so no switch to adjust. The info on the powersupply is often part of the system's HW description/specification.
