Windows 2003 Terminal Server Error Access is Denied

We seem to have this intermittent problem with one of our Terminal Servers.

It is Windows 2003 SP1, dual 3.6GHZ, 6GB RAM, plenty of HD space.

Every so often (the best kind of errors...) it starts denying logins via RDC to the server, even with /console.  I checked the System Event Log and it throws errors complaining about not being able to access their profile when trying to log them in.  I don't have the exact error on hand (I know, I know.. bad form) but I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction here at the very least.

My theory is that when the server gets to a decent load (I've noticed it seems to happen when we have between 8-12 of our programmers in which means they are likely running SAS) which means that the server is likely very busy.

Any thoughts?
