automate telnet

Hi experts,

Suppose I have a telnet session but instead of a user sitting at the client typing telnet commands, is there a simple way (say writing a simple script) that simulates a human typing some simple commands?
How can I do it?
Just a simple loop repeating some simple commands will do.
