Difference Between Shared Calendar and Calendar Public Folder?

What are the pros and cons between "Shared Calendar" option in Outlook and creating a Common Shared Calendar Public Folder.  I have set up a Shared Calendar Public Folder.  It does appear on the Folder list under Public Folders. But when I try to move that Calendar into the MAILBOX area, it does not act as Shared Public Calendar.   Basically what I want to accomplish is Has the Shared Calendar Public Folder more accessible and visible to the users when they open Outlook.  I want to exclude the step of opening the Folder list and expanding the Public Folders Area and then view the SHared Calendar.  Is there a way I can achieve that?

ASKER

I have Outlook 2003
Basically What I would like to know is How can I have my Shared Calendar Public Folder in a more visible and easily accessible area.  I won't to avoid users to open Folders List >> Public Folder >> Calendar.  When I tried dragging this common Calendar Public Folder into the Inbox Calendar(personal Default Calendar), It did add to that but did not act as Shared common Calendar.  So whatever we added to it was not visible to other users.

Scott, I tried certain things but it didnt work. So what I did was just added the Common Calendar Public Folder to the Shortcut folder. I guess I dont have any other choice.

I hate that! But not much we can do about it...

Thanks for the points!
