Hello,

 I have installed WSUS 2.0 w/SP1, I followed all instruction, I
 configured Group Policy for AU client.  I ran the gpupdate /force on a
 couple of clients I also ran the command below on a client XP computer
 "everything seems to be correct",

 C:\>Reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate"
 /s ! REG.EXE VERSION 3.0

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
    ElevateNonAdmins    REG_DWORD       0x1
    WUServer    REG_SZ  http://emc1
    WUStatusServer      REG_SZ  http://emc1

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
    NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers       REG_DWORD       0x1
    AutoInstallMinorUpdates     REG_DWORD       0x0
    RebootRelaunchTimeoutEnabled        REG_DWORD       0x1
    RebootRelaunchTimeout       REG_DWORD       0x12c
    NoAutoUpdate        REG_DWORD       0x0
    AUOptions   REG_DWORD       0x4
    ScheduledInstallDay REG_DWORD       0x4
    ScheduledInstallTime        REG_DWORD       0x17
    UseWUServer REG_DWORD       0x1

 C:\>WUAUCLT.EXE /detectnow

 I also ran the tool ClientDiag.exe

 Checking AU Settings

                Option is from Policy settings

 Checking Proxy Configuration

                Winhttp local machine Proxy. . . . . . . . . .  NONE
                Winhttp local machine ProxyBypass. . . . . . .  NONE
        Checking User IE Proxy settings . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS

                User IE AutoConfig URL Proxy . . . . . . . . .  NONE
                User IE AutoDetect
                AutoDetect not in use

 Checking Connection to WSUS/SUS Server
                WUServer = http://emc1
                WUStatusServer = http://emc1

I don't see any detection frequency. Have you set that?
What does the Automatic Updates log say?

It can take a while for the clients to appear. I have had clients download updates from the server, but not actually appear for another hour.
