Outlook 2007 problems with Windows Vista

I am totally stumped and frustrated. I have a brand new install of Vista Business and Office 2007 Enterprise. There are no updates or patches installed yet. I have purposely kept any additional software or patches off so I can rule out anything causing this.

I have an Exchange 2003 server for my email. The default setting for an Exchange mail account crashes my Outlook, almost immediately after I launch it. If I use a PST for my default data store everything works fine. I don't have anything fancy going on, just a simple account. I even have caching turned off.

I have re-installed Windows Vista and Office 2007 three times and this happens every single time. I have deleted any Outlook offline store files, deleted and created new profiles, but nothing is working.

Would anyone out there happen to know what the heck is going on with my PC or have any advice I could take to try? I am at wit's end here.

How large is your mailbox?
Are you setting Outlook to run in cached mode or direct?
Are you using RPC over HTTPS to connect?

Does the machine consist of JUST Windows and Office, nothing else like AV software?
