veritas tape ejecting then wanting to be verified

i have veritas backup exec version 10d.  after the backup completes, the tape ejects, then you must push it back in for it to be verified.  i checked the settings, and the option for the tape to automatically eject is not checked?  why is this happening?

Was this a clean install of 10d or upgrade from earlier version or other backup software?  Has it ever worked correctly?
I have had the tape eject at the verify but it has been when the tape is almost at capacity.  I don't know if it is exactly the situation you are having or not.  When I reduced the amount being backed up, the problem went away.
Good luck

It was a clean install.  It has worked fine but I did add more data to it and have a couple more servers adding data to it.  After it backs up, it ejects itself and has to be manually pushed back in to be verified.  Any ideas?
When you push the tape back in, does it finish, or does the job cancel?    The issue I had was one where the tape ejected and was waiting for a new tape.  When the tape was put in the job cancelled because the completion window was exceeded.
it finishes verifying and completes the job sending out the alerts?

i am calling them tonight, i will keep you updated...
veritas blamed the vxa-2 drive, exabyte (vxa-2 manufacturer) blamed veritas.  did a complete uninstall and reinstall of veritas and it still happened.  I stopped backing up the system state and that resolved the issue...thanks for your help...
