Levano T60 system restore - how?
I just inherited a Levano T60 Dual core Thinkpad.
It was used as a demo laptop and is hosed with the typical spyware and file corruption, so I want to do a system restore and set it back to factory defaults.
I should just be able to hold down the blue "ThinkVantage" button when I turn it on to get the typical enhanced environment for choosing pre-main OS activities, instead, I get a plain black screen with 3 options:
ESC to boot normally
F1 to enter the BIOS
F12 to choose a temporary startup device
ESC boots directly into the OS.
F1 enters the BIOS where their are a few tools for diagnostics, but no system restore.
F12 prompts me with either boot to HD (and back to Windows), CD, or LAN
From the Windows Disk Management tool (diskmgmt.msc), I see what looks to be a hidden rescue partition of about 4 gigs or so, so it doesn't appear to have been wiped out.
How can I restore this thing?

Sorry to say, none of these options are viable. I'm familiar with IBM laptops, and have done numerous factory default restores, but this is a new experience for me. As far as I can tell, the restore image must be prepared in advance by the first recipient of the laptop.
The think vantage utility "rescue and recovery" requires me to point this image before I can proceed.
I thought maybe I could mount the 5 gig service partition, but the option in diskmgmt.msc isn't available.
Can someone confirm this as new behavior in new Levano laptops?

If you have getdataback you coukd try using that to extract the contents of the recovery partition, then look at the files there an what you can do about them.

I was given the correct information and links,. these are valid instructions for other laptops of this model, but they did not work for this one because of a quality control issue or something done by the vendor. Thanks for your time!
Also, you should make sure that Recovery Partition is set Active in Bios. Most of cases I have seen, it was set Disable.
