VSFTPD simple setup - Howto

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to setup vsftpd so that I can login to our root website directory (/Websrv) to update the website files. So far, I've had less than my share of luck. I have been to the configuration file...everything looks fine there. How do I set the root directory of the FTP server? When I login with username / password, where is the setting that tells the server at what folder do I end up? I've been searching for this for a while.

So:

Setup vsftpd so that I (just one user) can access the root of our apache website directory simply to update website files. I will be accessing the server from windows systems most of the time but would like compatibility with all OSs for futureproofing.

Thank You,
Max
