Unable to save data to network drive.

I have Windows XP and a Belkin Router.  I have an Iomega network drive attached to the router.  I cannot save anything on the network drive.  In the properties of the network drive, it says that I have no free space.  When I browse the drive, the only file there is a file called makecgi.  It is a file that has no application attached to it and the size of the file is 546 KB.  I have tried to format the drive, but it tells me that format has failed.  I have also tried to reset factory defaults and that does not work.  When I try to save something to the drive, it says Access denied.

This sounds a little  like a security issue, if you look at the properites of the network storage can you see any sharing options or security option. you may have to setup yourself as a user.

Is there a way to manage the NAS device perhaps through a web interface?

Can you post the model number of the devic, it may help.

The website does offer ways to format the drive, but the format fails each time.  The support at Iomega is no help.
Can you tell us what model you have someone may have experience of it.
Iomega External Network Drive (HDD,160GB,EXT,ETHERNET,REMAN,HDD)
I believe the problem you are having is due to the fact that you cannot configure the workgroup for that particular drive. The best solution I've found, is to set a static ip for the drive, and them setup shares on it, map the shares via ip to your systems that you want to acess it from.
If this doesn't work, or you need further help on it. Let me know.
