Windows Install Microsoft Office in Vista

Each time an email comes through Outlook  2007 or any time Outlook or a Microsoft Office program (2007)  is opened Windows Installer appears and goes through its "Please Wait While Windows Configures Microsoft Office Standard" routine.  I upgraded XP Pro with the Vista Upgrade and have seen this problem with other operating systems but haven't come across a solution for Vista and Office 2007 yet.  Thanks.

I'd do a reinstall of 2007 and make sure you do a "custom install". Choose to install ALL to run from hard drive.

Thanks, but it didn't work.

What happens if you put the office cd in and test the mail?

You can also run this utility before you reinstall: Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

I don't have a CD.  I installed the downloadable version.

The other mistake might have been not uninstalling Office before the upgrade but the Advisor didn't suggest it..  I'm considering getting the full version, not only because of this trouble but because I can't create a bootable repair DVD.  I'll have to think about doing a clean install.  Thanks.

A clean install resolved this problem and several others.  Thank you.
