For a design project, myself and a few others are creating a bumper pool game in Flash. Only some of us have had some experience with Flash, but it's still very little. I am looking for some really great resources to help us get a good start. We basically don't know how the frame work of a flash game is set up.<br />

Are there any online tutorials available which go through creating the basic foundation of creating a flash game?<br />
Or any books that can provide good information?<br />
Or any example files that are provided, to help us figure out what we need to set up in order to create a fully-featured flash based game?<br />

How to create flash based games?

Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) is a cross-platform multimedia and software platform used to embed animations, video, and interactive applications into web pages and desktop and mobile applications and games. Flash displays text, vector and raster graphics to provide animations, video games and applications. It allows streaming of audio and video, and can capture mouse, keyboard, microphone and camera input. The ActionScript programming language allows creation of interactive animations, video games, web applications, desktop applications and mobile applications.

Most development for the Microsoft platform is done utilizing the technologies supported by the.NET framework. Other development is done using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for programs like Access, Excel, Word and Outlook, with PowerShell for scripting, or with SQL for large databases.

Illustration software is distinguished from photo-editing software in that the result is an original construction, rather than the manipulation of a photograph. Illustration software uses vector-based tools such that the content is stored digitally as resolution-independent mathematical formulae describing lines (open paths), shapes (closed paths), and color fills, strokes or gradients. Vector paths are constructed of anchor points and path segments. Illustration tools typically create precise lines, shapes and patterns with well-defined edges and are superb for working with complex constructions such as maps and typography.
