Adding windows 2003 servers to a windows 2000 domain - upgrade to 2003 AD or not ?

Hi,  currently we have a 2000 domain with 3 DC's
We are in the process of upgrading our business software and as a result will be introducing 3 further servers, all running Server 2003 and one of them running SQL 2005.

I am looking for a bit of advice on the best course of action. Do I just introduce these as member servers and leave the 2000 domain in tact - We currently have no major network issues.

Should I upgrade the domain to 2003, what REAL benefits will that give or should I just wait another 12-18 months and go for Microsft next server upgrades ?
