Save OWA messages on Local Hard Drive.......Outlook 2007 or other client.

Hi have access to my corporate mail only thrrough Outlook Web Access.
Inadvertantly I have to delete my mails just to remain within the Mail box size limits.

I have heard that office 2007 comes with Outlook which can be used to access email through OWA....
Is this true..? Has anybody used this before to access emails through OWA and the Archive them on your local computer Hard drive..?

Is there any other email client which I can use to acess OWA email and Archive those messages on my Local hard drive...?

Dont understand why you cant get your email via Outlook using an Exchange Mailbox. Then you could use a .pst...
There is no mechanism to access email available only to you through OWA with Outlook.
What you are probably thinking of is RPC over HTTPS, aka Outlook Anywhere. This uses web protocols to connect to Exchange, but it does not use OWA. The administrators of the Exchange server would have to set that up on the server - you will need to ask them if they have done so and what the settings are.

Sembee,
In Other words you are tellimg me I have to delete all my import mails just so that I can use the corporate Email..?

I have come to seek help at EE after exhausting all means to explain my situation to the Exchange administrator of EVIL EMPIRE CORPORATION  ( Guessed who..?? ) .

I work in a remote location and Has No access to the Corportae- Intranet  neither do they want to give me any VPN access...

All I have is the Public Internet....and I need to save my emails......I tried Downloading some messages today , savimg them one by one into a pst folder, Which is  really painfull..and sometimes messes up the attachments..
Please help..
If your employer will not give you remote access via anything other than OWA then you have to take that up with them. Microsoft have not provided the technology to connect to the mailbox through OWA, other than RPC over HTTPS which requires configuration on the server.

If you need to retain email but are restricted on how much you can retain then you should take it up with your manager. This is more of a policy/business process than anything that can be resolved technically.

THIS IS TO ALL FOLKS WHO MIGHT SHOW UP AT THIS LINK SOMEDAY.......

Some time in your career You must all have come across the Anguish that you have to go through when you become a victim of  workplace  Politics..( You know..Seniority...., how not-so-good of a Suck-up you are and all that..)..Add to this your Coming from the "dark Continent" and the skin color that goes with it....

Add  to that System Administrators who whose brains are wrapped up in bureaucracy  and red-Tape,  more happy to push down the politcal stink down your Nose ...THAN....offer you technological solutions that can make your life easier.. (you just witnessed one above!!..)

SO HERE'S A SOLUTION I HAVE FOUND to get my "Outlook Web Access " only accessible emails to be saved on my laptop  local Hard drive..

1. Purchase  a Commercial POP or IMAP service Account. ( so many out there...Runbox, Mailonline, etc..)
2. Before your "Corporate" email box gets full and they shut you out of OWA , forward all your emails to your commercial POP mailbox.

3.Using MS OUTLOOK set up your POP or IMAP accounton your Laptop ( or Any Computer you use..)
Most email programs are easy to set up, with "wizards" or dialog boxes to guide you.
The link below is a wonderfull example of how to achieve this
http://www.runbox.com/twiki/bin/view/RunboxHelp/MicrosoftOutlook

4.Once you get access to your Commercial POP3 account, You can Archive messages and included Attachments on your Local Hard drive....

I believe technology should be accessible to everybody..To alleviate human misery...without discrimination based on race .Color and National Origin....So the world is once again a Happy place...
