Tool/software for Generating an Image from a given Video File
Hi all,
We are developing a PHP project in which we need to play videos online (over the web).
Here we have to generate an image of the starting slide of each movie so that we can present this image to the user at start and once he/she clicks on the image then we will be playing the corresponding video in a movie player such as windows media player / media player.
So here we are basically looking for a free tool/software that generates the image of the starting slide of a given movie. The image generated can be of type gif/jpeg/jpg/pjpeg/png and the video files that we have to handle are avi, mov, mpeg, and mpg. Please also note that we have to run this tool/software from linux cron or from a PHP program.
Please mention the name of the tool/software and from where we can download/get the same.
